One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is creating spaces that my clients can actually enjoy. It’s important to me to build spaces that are not just aesthetically beautiful but also functional and livable. One of my favorite spaces that achieves this blend of form and function is this home office, based in Great Falls, Virginia.

Olive Green Family Room

This Before & After duo is from a room I designed for the 2015 DC Design House. Here, I spent many an afternoon basking in the sun pouring in from the room’s large windows, collecting inspiration from the light and warmth flowing in from the house’s beautiful exterior.

Upholstered in a timeless Victoria Larson pattern, these vintage chairs from the family room are a forever favorite. They were on their way to the trash heap when my dear mother saved them! Aren’t they so special? I especially love the brass detailing on the arms. All that was missing were brass ferrules, which we added as a finishing touch.

I am truly in love with Phillip Jeffries wallpaper. His Bright and dynamic Imperial Gates served as inspiration for this mid-century space I designed for the DC Design House in 2013. The challenge of this space was the existing workstation.

This room will always hold a special place in my heart, as its Danish armchair once belonged to my parents. As a designer, I always love incorporating (and repurposing!) the personal. It fills the spaces we inhabit with character, memories, and love.
